6 MONTHS!!!!! On the 20th Emmitt turned 6 months old. I cannot believe it. In the past 3 months he has changed SO much, as you can see. He just started eating solid food, avocado, carrots, peas, and sweet potato so far. He loves to stand, is practicing the moves he needs to crawl, and can rotate around to reach pretty much anything he eyes. Yes, sleep still is horrible! SO- in desperation we have started to "Ferber" train him. This is officially day 2- very, very painful for me. Emmitt is not too thrilled with it either. We will give this a week or 2 and if it doesn't work--- I GIVE UP!

Emmitt is now 5 1/2 months old. He is growing at an astonishing rate. I am sure this is what everyone was talking about when they said it would fly by. I am amazed at his development and skills. It seems he has a new sound or is able to perform new tasks everyday. It is great fun to watch. Emmitt continues to be a very chill guy during the day- full of smiles and laughs- and continues to wake up at night every 1 1/2 -2 hours. We are tired, very very tired, but feel blessed to have such a relaxed and happy baby. I keep telling myself (Cathy no comments on this one) that he will sleep one day. I just know it. We have to have hope or else it is just insanity. Emmitt and I took a real quick trip to Colorado this past week. We stayed at Sara and Jimi's new house and made it to the cabin for part of a day. It kind of felt like a whirlwind trip but I guess all our lives are a bit more complicated these days. Not as easy to just pack up and hit the road. Anyways, we had a great time with the family. Killian and Holden were more interested in Emmitt this time. I think Emmitt was amazed and entertained by them as well as being scared of their 1 1/2 year old temper tantrums. Holden liked to give Emmitt a kiss and then turn around and hit him or take away his toys. Killian watched Emmitt from a distance and then would give him his favorite toys to play with. It was SO sweet. We can't wait to eventually move back so the cousins can know each other better and so Kevin and I can be closer to family and support. Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. We finally are showing signs of summer here in Seattle.
