Emmitt STILL loves the fridge. He now uses his climbing skills to scale the fridge for the highest possible items. Then throws them out, sucks on them, puts them in random places throughout the house, and eats them.

Broccoli
The aftermath, well actually just the beginning.
Sweet boy!
There he is!
Where's Emmitt? Where's Emmitt?
Flowers. Emmitt now smells the flowers. So cute!

Emmitt playing outside in his PJ's. Check out his feet, those are the bottom of his pajamas. Sometimes it is just easier this way!

Contemplating the stairs.

I decided to take Emmitt to the beach after work one day. He really loved it. He was facinated with watching the water and the kites. He wouldn't go to the water, just watched from afar. He had a great time walking around, throwing rocks, climbing beach wood, and watching the people.

Emmitt created his own perch to watch Sesame Street. I left the room for 2 mins. When I came back in this is what he was doing.
Sometimes we need a little Sesame Street in our day, OK lots of times we need a little Sesame Street. Mostly to get stuff done around the house.

Baby in a pot. It was his idea!

Looking a little rough in the AM.
looking pretty cute in the AM.

A trip to the park on a COLD day.
Rice and beans with Daddy.
So tired from the zoo. It is rare that I dare go into Emmitt's room during nap. On this occasion he was sleeping for 2 hours and we didn't want him to sleep to close to bedtime. He loves the little fox in the corner. Sometimes he sleeps with it in his arms.
Like mother, like son. Emmitt going crazy at the zoo and Me loosing my hat!

Emmitt and I snuggling at the zoo. Ha ha! The gorillas were amazing. Emmitt just stared blankly at them. He loves Gorillas in books, but I think this was a bit much for him.
Kevin and an Eskimo
The Seattle zoo. I think I was more excited to go than either Kevin or Emmitt. When we got there I think Kevin and I had a way better time than Emmitt. I guess he is just not ready for this kind of adventure yet. I am sure we have many days at the zoo in the future. Too bad we are leaving Seattle. The zoo is great!

OK, so I have been holding off posting this for the last 2 weeks because I wanted to write something. I just don't have time right now. We are moving and Crazy. Let me just say this. Emmitt is SO much fun right now. I really love this age. He is curiouse, adventurouse (sometimes too much), he has a sense of humor, is loving, silly, and learning a ton. He immitates everything. I just taught him to stick out his tongue, so what does he do at 4AM when getting a bottle, but stick his tongue out at me! Hard to keep a straight face. He LOVES to go to the park, outside, or to the beach. He still loves his books. Always has a favorite. He says Dada and Momma, or ma. He can show you "what does a gorilla say?-beats his chest- What do we do with flowers?-he krinkels his nose up and smells the page- Hat?- pats his head- Can you say dog? "Baba"-Elephant- holds his arm up- Lion arm up and down- Knows the sign for Eat, done, more(sort of), and NO.

He does not sleep through the night!!!!! Now with the move he REALLY doesn't sleep through the night.

Posts in the future will be better. Thought it important to get some new pictures of my sweet guy out though.

an example of the Emmitt reach

Emmitt enjoying the bath with a friend. Yes, Emmitt STILL LOVES his bath. He could live in there, I swear. You have to tackle him to get him out. He has many great bath toys and I think might be part monkey part sea otter.
Hey you little monkey, give me some sugar!
I normally would not post a picture of myself in this state(just woke up), however Emmitt looks so adorable I had to. We turned the camera view finder around so he could see his face when I took the picture. He was delighted with this, hence the great smile.
Emmitt loves to find my wallet and of course pull everything out. He is much taller now and has an increddible ability to reach. He gets up on his tippy toes now to pull things down.
Sweet naked boy, so curious and monkey like.
Oh' Monkey
Getting CRAZY!

So it was raining, cold, and I had to go to work in a few hours. Emmitt had energy to burn and was FOCUSED on the sink. SO, I gave in, told him it was our little secret, and let him go to town in the sink. I think he enjoyed himself. I finally confessed to Kevin yesterday.
This one's for you Jo. Your boys in their chick magnet sweaters.
Yes, Emmitt eats a lot off the floor. I give up. He has eaten cat food, drank toilet water(thats another story of bad supervision by his momma), and so I fugure what could be worse than ingesting those things. Might as well eat a Satsuma off the floor.
Satsuma
Emmitt managed to find a whole satsuma. He carried it around for while and then started biting into the skin. He made several yucky faces but persisted (I always say he is a glutton for punishment because even when he obviously hates something he goes back for more) he eventually peeled away half the skin and was delighted to have the inner fruit. He walked around the house dripping satusuma juice down his belly, eating, and appearing quite pleased with himself. It was freakin cute!

A walk at Greenlake park
"so tired of this place"
Dada love at Dim Sum
The first time we have ever been served 3 fortune cookies. We are a lagitamet family now!
Here we go!
Emmitt at Dim sum. His first experience. He spent the first few seconds checking out the scene and then started throwing his food. That's our monkey. He did enjoy the pot stickers.

Emmitt, Emmitt your so fine, Emmitt, Emmitt a monkey all the time!
Emmitt is now 13 months, seems to have grown a bit- his pants are fitting better!
He is a true monkey, our little guy. He eats like a monkey (throwing most of his food), he climbs on the bed frame like a monkey (he gets his foot stuck on purpose and then laughs about it), he runs through the house like a monkey (throwing things along the way), he can climb up and over me like a monkey (also thinks this is very funny), and hits like a monkey (ok, not sure if monkeys hit but he sure looks like one when he does). Emmitt has amazing balance and agility. At Gymboree he impresses his fellow toddlers and the teachers by balancing, climbing, and running sure footed eveywhere. Last week he was trying to make baskets with the balls (initiated this on his own) and when the teacher was explaining the activity for the day (all about balancing) Emmitt stood up on the dispay and proceeded to stand in a surfers stance and balance himself. The teacher said "oh, wow, this activity will teach balance, Emmitt is already doing that". I of course stood by as the proud Momma smiling. I was also impressed by his ability. What else is E up to these days??? He continues to enjoy adventures to the park and pretty much any activity outside. He now runs to the door when you say "park" and starts whining. At the park the other day he spent 20 mins walking around yelling. I have no idea what about. I am guessing it was his way of saying "this rocks and feels so good". I think he has a little Grandpa Bob in his genes and the outdoors revitalze the little guy. He loves his wagon. When we walk outside he immediately heads to the wagon, gets in and starts kicking his legs (thats his go, go, go sign). He gives me this go, go go sign now when I give him a bottle in the night and stop rocking. While this is cute that he doesn't want the rocking to stop, I am usually thinking "please go back to bed. I am so tired". This is around 3AM, so you can't really blame me. Speaking of sleep, our little Emmitt still does not sleep through the night, although it is getting better. He usually gets up twice, sometimes once a night. Poor guy is breaking in 3 new teeth so his sleep has been a bit wonky the past few nights. I usually don't mind giving Emmitt a bottle though. If I have been working it allows me the opportunity to stare at my sweet guy and get some love in. Emmitts awareness is blossoming. He understands many directions and words, although he won't say any of them. When you ask Emmitt to pick a book he now searches for the right book, brings it to you, turns around and sits in your lap. If you tell him to find Percy he searches the room, he will come to you if you call (sometimes), and can even give you a kiss (if you are lucky). We are working on language development, but I think he might be a bit stubborn when it comes to saying things. I think he finally has said Dada a couple of times, says Momma, but that is about it. We are loving on Emmitt these days. He is fun, more self sufficient, and engaged than ever. He is develping a sense of humor and continues to be contemplative and sweet. I still think Emmitt is an old sole, something I said when I looked into his eyes for the first time. He is amazing, what a joy. Enjoy the videos and pictures. I love posting them because it gives me a chance to go back over the weeks, laughing and loving the boy that has blessed our lives.
